BRAZIL - CONDADO SÃO JOSÉ (PULP NATURAL)
This is the kind of coffee that earns attention. From the Condado estate in Minas Gerais, this pulp natural processed coffee delivers what great Brazilian coffee should: chocolate-forward depth, creamy body, and nutty complexity that never overwhelms.
Roasted to Full City, the profile develops rich cocoa tones with hazelnut and macadamia accents. There's a pleasant bittersweetness that rounds everything out. Think dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate. Malted grain notes add subtle complexity without making the cup feel busy.
Why Pulp Natural Processing: This sits between fully washed and natural processing. The result is cleaner than a natural (less fermented taste) while retaining more body and sweetness than a washed coffee. It's the best of both approaches, chocolate and nut flavors shine without competing aromatics.
Versatility: Works beautifully as drip or pour-over, but really excels as espresso. The creamy, bittersweet profile cuts through milk perfectly for cappuccinos and lattes without losing its character.
Roast Level: Full City
Tasting Notes: Cocoa, hazelnut, macadamia, malted grain
The Bottom Line: Dependable, sophisticated, quietly excellent. The coffee is essential and better than it needs to be.
